Testing of demountable steel-concrete connections with recycle aggregate concrete – Belgrade, Serbia

In the Circ-Boost Serbian pilot, the final testing phase is underway for innovative precast – demountable structural elements made with 100% coarse recycled aggregate concrete (RAC).

The team has conducted in-air and push-out tests to examine how mechanical couplers perform under tension and shear.

Currently, full-scale column–foundation assemblies are being tested under monotonic and cyclic horizontal loading to evaluate their real-world performance.

The goal? To prove the mechanical feasibility and reusability of RAC-based demountable columns in structural applications – advancing circularity in construction from design to reuse.

Conducted by the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering of Civil Engineering, in collaboration with local industry partners, while the samples were provided by Penta Ge.Co. Construction.
