Building Networks for
Circular Construction
Circ-Boost connects with European initiatives, sister projects, and clusters to scale impact and accelerate the transition to a circular built environment.
Circ-Boost Sister projects
Developing circular, eco-friendly, and innovative solutions to reduce emissions from the construction industry.
RECONSTRUCT promotes circular, low-emission construction by replacing conventional materials with local, low-carbon alternatives, using reclaimed components, and embedding design for disassembly.
Turning wood waste into advanced building materials.
Less than half of Europe’s 50 million tonnes of annual waste wood is recycled. WOODCIRCLES aims to significantly increase the circular use of wood in construction, reducing waste and resource consumption.
Driving energy efficiency with fully bio-based building materials.
BIOBUILD develops thermal solutions for energy-efficient buildings using novel, fully recyclable bio-based materials. The project aims to reduce building energy demand by up to 20%, accelerating decarbonisation across industrial sectors.
Bio-based, holistically created buildings.
INGUMA fosters the development of bio-based construction materials and promotes their acceptance by embracing the core values of the New European Bauhaus: sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetics.
Smarter, more efficient, and eco-friendly buildings through data.
DATAWiSE transforms building management with advanced digital solutions. By integrating cutting-edge technology with sustainable practices, the project enhances energy efficiency, reduces costs, and improves comfort and safety for occupants.
CircHub Cluster
CircHub – A European Cluster for Circular Construction
Circ-Boost is a founding member of CircHub, a collaborative cluster bringing together EU-funded projects that are advancing circularity in the built environment.
- Joint dissemination and communication activities
- Exchange of knowledge between pilots, living labs, and regions
- Shared training materials and educational resources
- Policy recommendations and advocacy at EU and national levels
By uniting efforts across multiple Horizon Europe projects, CircHub amplifies impact and accelerates the transition toward circular, climate-neutral, and resilient cities.
Initiatives
European Initiatives driving circularity
Circ-Boost is proud to be part of wider European initiatives that bring together cities, regions, and projects to accelerate the transition toward a circular economy. These initiatives provide a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and scaling innovation.
Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI)
The Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) is a flagship European Commission program that supports cities and regions in becoming more circular. By connecting local authorities, industry, researchers, and EU-funded projects, CCRI helps develop and implement circular economy strategies tailored to local needs.
As one of the CCRI projects, Circ-Boost contributes by testing large-scale circular solutions in construction, providing real-world evidence from pilot sites in Barcelona, Belgrade, Paris, Prague, and Sortland.
