With the help of University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Serbia produced its first-ever structural-grade recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) under industrial conditions – a key milestone for sustainable construction in the region.
Concrete class C30/37 was produced using 100% coarse recycled aggregate, thanks to a collaboration with Penta Ge.Co. Construction, a Circ-Boost project partner.
The recycled aggregate was sourced from the Construction and Demolition Waste Facility in Vinca Resource Recovery Center, where demolition waste is processed and reused – and generously donated by Beo Cista Energija, part of Serbia’s public-private partnership in waste management.
This breakthrough brings us closer to real-world implementation of circular, low-impact construction in the Balkans.
