Pilot Update: Steel Joins the Circular Shift – Innovation & Recognition from Belgrade, Serbia

In Circ-Boost’s Serbian pilot, a new milestone has been achieved in designing fully demountable steel structures for circular construction. A moment-resisting beam-to-column steel joint – engineered for disassembly and reuse – was experimentally tested at the University of Belgrade’s Laboratory for Structures. Its performance was evaluated for moment resistance, rotation capacity and stiffness, failure behaviour, […]

Testing of demountable steel-concrete connections with recycle aggregate concrete – Belgrade, Serbia

In the Circ-Boost Serbian pilot, the final testing phase is underway for innovative precast – demountable structural elements made with 100% coarse recycled aggregate concrete (RAC). The team has conducted in-air and push-out tests to examine how mechanical couplers perform under tension and shear. Currently, full-scale column–foundation assemblies are being tested under monotonic and cyclic

Pilot in Action – Industrial Production of Recycled Concrete in Serbia

With the help of University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Serbia produced its first-ever structural-grade recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) under industrial conditions – a key milestone for sustainable construction in the region. Concrete class C30/37 was produced using 100% coarse recycled aggregate, thanks to a collaboration with Penta Ge.Co. Construction, a Circ-Boost project partner.

Innovation in Earthquake-Resistant Construction

At Circ-Boost, we celebrate innovations that combine sustainability with safety. The INODIS system is a great example of how recycled materials can protect both buildings and lives. Developed in collaboration between the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Civil Engineering and RWTH Aachen University, this system uses recycled rubber to absorb seismic forces and reduce damage
