Circ-Boost webinar: Vesterålen Pilot – Sustainable construction beyond the Arctic Circle

18 June 2026 at 13:00 CEST

The webinar will present the Circ-Boost Norwegian Pilot 4, located in Vesterålen, Norway.

This pilot aims to demonstrate an entire circular building process “from demolition to construction” in the Arctic region by deploying leading construction technologies and solutions adapted to the local context.

The pilot includes several key stages: selective demolition, production of recycled concrete aggregates, and their direct utilisation in new construction. Together, these activities enable different circular solutions developed by the pilot team, which includes UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Museum Nord, Lundhagem architects, and Reno-Vest, the primary waste management company in Vesterålen.

The session will provide insights into how circular construction can be implemented in demanding regional conditions, and how research, architecture, waste management and construction practice can work together to support the reuse and recycling of materials in new building projects.
